Do you remember that one salon discussion we had last year where we ended up with a grid of blue/green (I think) democrat/republican and beliefs on... man is basically good/evil? I can't recall the final grid... but I remember the premise that generated it:

I had said that the difference between republicans and democrats was that democrats believed that man was basically evil and had to be forced to 'do the right thing' (e.g., high taxes and high cash entitlement programs) and republicans believed that people were basically good and would take care of the needy on their own (low taxes, low/no government entitlement programs, private charities would cover the need). Of course, an over-simplification, as any two-sentance summation of society's beliefs would be.

And you had said, "no, it's just the opposite...", and we then discovered that blue-republicans believed one way, and green-republicans thought the other, and vice-versa for green-democrats and blue democrats...

Do you remember the grid we ended up with? Can you relate/post it here? I can't recall the exact config, but I recall you had it nailed; it made perfect sense...
